Rivera Beach is a city on Palm Beach County incorporated in September 1922. It is on the US List with African American majority populations as it is predominantly an African American community. They have their own marina and is the location of the bustling Port of Palm Beach and the United States Coast Guard (USCG); a branch of the United States Armed Forces that has a military law enforcement mission. Originally platted in 1913 under the name Riviera, it was later altered and named after the French Riviera. Riviera Beach is home to one of the country’s top dive sites, Blue Heron Bridge on Singer Island. Straight ahead is the deep Atlantic Ocean and as you move further you will find a variety of dining opportunities all with the spectacular view of the beach where you watch parasailers gliding as you enjoy your meal. To the left of Riviera Beach are beachfront buildings, and much further is John MacArthur Beach State Park while on the right is Peanut Island. Unbelievably right under the bridge is the most famed diving and snorkeling spot in the world where you will see colorful water creatures make it through the Palm Beach Inlet. There is also the Manatee Lagoon, an FPL Eco-Discovery Center. In 2015, Riviera Beach renamed the stretch of Old Dixie Highway inside the city limits to President Barack Obama Highway.
