Petersen Law is a tax and estate planning law firm founded in 2009 and is dedicated to helping clients with tax planning, estate planning, and tax controversy matters at both the federal and state level. We offer our clients a system to keep your important documents safe and organized either in paper format or in an electronic vault. Petersen Law is conveniently located on the first floor at 3017 Douglas Blvd., Suite 105 in Roseville, CA. The firm serves clients throughout Placer, Sacramento, Yolo, El Dorado and Nevada Counties. Debra and her staff provide a comfortable, professional environment where long-lasting client relationships are built. In-home appointments are available to clients with special needs. Debra has nearly 30 years of experience as a tax professional. She received both a Juris Doctor and Masters of Law in Taxation at McGeorge School of Law and holds a Certified Public Accountant license. Debra worked as Tax Counsel for the California Franchise Tax Board for 18 years and prior to that as Tax Manager for Arthur Andersen & Company and tax staff for Coopers & Lybrand. She is an adjunct professor with the University of Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law teaching Tax Practice and Procedure and a speaker for Spidell Publishing, Inc., which is a critical source of California tax information for tax professionals. Debra is a member of Wealth Counsel, a collaborative network of more than 2,500 estate planning attorneys nationwide. Debra testified before the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations in November of 2003 and since then has made numerous presentations and speeches on tax shelters.
